Back into the church to hopefully get the job finished soon.

Alex pictured with his stunning reproduction of the original appearance of the pipes. He was able to achieve this by painstakingly removing the top layer of horrible silver paint to reveal all the detail.

I'm also now close to completing all the graining which will have an overall darker finish to give it a more Victorian feel and also highlight the pipes.

I've included a little bit of trompe l'oeil.

Just an afterthought, do you mean that the brass keyhole is actually trompe l’oel, ? Or is the wood grain feature the trompe l’oel. ?

That is tremendous progress, the wood grain is mind boggling! It’s hard to believe that the pipes (whatever condition they might have fallen into) where upgraded by someone painting them silver 🤔. Hope all the team are staying well and safe, Take Care G
