I've been commissioned to restore this 1850 church organ to its former glory. The organ was made by the Thomas Robson Company of St. Martin's Lane in London's West End and now resides in All Hallows Church, Gospel Oak, North London.
The wooden case was originally grained as oak and the visible pipes, which are all timber dummies, were finely decorated with some exquisite painting and gold leaf. For some reason, which is totally beyond me, somebody in their infinite wisdom decided to paint over the pipes and casework in silver and white
Fortunately, the case can be dismantled so I can work on it section by section off site.
